Whether it be the snow in the winter, or walks into the Alpine national park through spring to Autumn its right on your doorstep. Harrietville offers many short historical walks with hotels resturaunts, general store and all your ski hire.
Or take day trips to historic Towns and wineries or into Bright for a shop, and then return from the hustle and bustle to your quiet secluded alpine cottage, sit on the deck and watch the setting sun over mountain ranges and enjoy a great local wine.
Walk up our own private tracks to old disused gold mines take in the magnificent views.

Directions: Shady Brook is situated on Mountain View Walk only 200metres off the great Alpine Road on the Ovens river in Harrietville.
Coming from Bright you cross over School Bridge (clearly marked) with ornamental lights. As you cross the bridge on the main road you have Hoys Ski Hire on your right and Pioneeer park on your left. 100 metres over the bridge on the RHS is Mountain View Walk. Shady Brook is clearly sign posted and just follow signs drect you and our entrance across an olf historic bailey bridge will lead you into Shady Brook. We are the only property on the other side of the river. |
